Who We Are

It’s no secret that the games industry is in a sorry state. Large publishers and studios seem to be doing everything in their power to extract money from their customers while replacing developers with AI. At Bit Bandit, we believe it’s possible to make fun games without exploiting people, while still making a living doing something we love.

Our team is a ragtag group of ex-industry veterans and those looking for their big break into the games industry. We currently don’t make any money and volunteer our time to making something awesome with the dream that it will one-day pay off. Please support us in whatever way you can!

Meet the Team

  • Joshua Ellis

    CREATIVE LEAD

    I think about design non-stop, which is a blessing and a curse. With a background in Computer Science, and AAA Level Design experience, I have a deep respect for every discipline under the game development umbrella. I strongly believe in the ability of my team, regardless of experience, and I know we can deliver games we’re all extremely passionate about.

  • Jake Heppinstall

    QUEST DESIGNER

    I’m always playing games and have been since Josh and I were kids. We grew up on games like World of Warcraft and Command & Conquer, which gave us a taste for thematically strong games with fun stories. I hope to bring my passion for narratives, and my strong beliefs in faith and culture, to make incredibly rich and deep stories for our creative universe.

  • Caine Lacey

    AUDIO DIRECTOR

    I love music, and I love playing it. I’m happiest when I’m down the pub with my guitar and playing songs alongside friends. I also love games, and am heavily inspired by any of the Souls games. My goal is to combine the sounds of Rock n’ roll, and Sci-fi, with nostalgic tones from early console and games brands. I’ll know I’ve succeeded if you really feel something when playing our games.

    COMPOSER

    I’ve made music for as long as I could hold an iPad. I love experimenting with different sounds, especially from Electronic and Rock music. As someone who plays instruments, and has a strong background in music production, I want to make some kick-ass scores that are equal parts cool and mysterious.

    Faith and community are core to who I am. My role in IT is all about serving others, helping them fix problems and enabling them to do their best work. I love playing games, especially narrative driven multiplayer. I want to bring people together by not only supporting the team, but also developing the systems that enable our multiplayer to work, so that anyone playing our games can find a community.

  • Trinh Nguyen

    UX Designer

    Having been an acclaimed AAA Level Designer, but shifting my focus towards UX and brand development, my role is a bit more fluid than the rest of the team. All that matters to me is the experience our players have when they interact with any element of our brand and our projects.
